Firstly we must apologise for the long absence of info about Jabba. We have been trying to post stuff about him on the website for months and every time we’d get something up the chief censor would cyber-invade our server, remove it and then dob us into the SPCA and the NZ Federated Farmers Association. So by the time you read this, it might not be here!
Jabba first toured with us in about 2001 or 2002... it’s all a bit of blur now. He came, he corrupted and then he left... and now he’s back to finish off what he started. A typical lighting tech, he loves beer and mischief... when he first toured with us he taught us; how to drive rental cars, how to do handbrake slides, how to do handbrake slides in a rental car outside a police officer’s house, how to booby-trap a motel room, how to fly a blow-up sheep in during a really serious moment in the show, and other skills too numerous to mention here. Besides having extensive experience in the lighting industry, both in Godzone and abroad, Jabba is also a talented actor, the highlight of his thespian career to date being the title role in Bananas in Pyjamas. Not sure if he played B1 or B2... who cares! He’s also the brains behind all the lighting programming and projection systems. It’s all real state-of-the-art technology and we still struggle to get heads around the fact he does all that stuff. Great to tour with... really appreciates long days, crap wages, bad food and pathetic motel showers. |
