Neville (Nevtech Gnometronics)

A self-confessed ‘cheeky little bugger’, Nev joined the Experience on our 10th Anniversary tour in 2007 after running away from his home in Invercargill. He originally persuaded his mate Doc to accompany him on his new adventures, however Doc was such a wuss that he piked out at Timaru and returned to Invercargill early without seeing his 10th Anniversary contract out!
Well, this is Nev’s second contract with the Experience and as he says, it’s a real blast! He’s really enjoying life on the road, the late night parties and, of course, what Nev refers to as the ‘three Gs’– Groupies, Grolsh beer and Germish bourbon – though not always in that order. In fact, putting it simply, Nev is an absolute party animal when he tours. We remember how, on the 10th Anniversay tour, he drank so much that he vomited in Christchurch, then entered into the party spirit again in Palmerston North where he fell off a table and literally broke his arse! In fact Nev finished that tour being rushed back to Wellington for urgent surgery and recuperation. and we’re hoping that he won’t be injured in similar circumstances this time.

When Nev’s contract was terminated at the end of the tour he was sent back home to Invercargill until his attitude improved, but this time round we’re still looking for any positive sign that this has actually happened. Despite the intervening two years he has no intention of changing his Floyd-inspired ‘Rock God’ image, though we did suggest that a trip to the laundry might be in order. As he says, no way is he ever going to be caught again in his manky old green pants, pale blue shirt and daggy-looking red hat. Nev has also given up on his fishing pastime, as he never caught anything at his home by the goldfish pond in Invercargill. He’s considered taking up duck shooting, but unfortunately, as the photo shows, he doesn't have any real ducks to shoot at home, just cheap plastic fakes!

Since touring with the Pink Floyd Experience, Nev has set up a website detailing his experiences and life on the road with the band. As he says, it’s not all Grolsch, Germish and Groupies! To visit Nev’s site, click here.
To keep him occupied and out of trouble between tours we have delegated Nev the task of updating the band’s blog page. We’re still not sure if this was a good idea as Nev is very eager to share his ‘politically incorrect’ opinions and while we may agree with many of his views perhaps a blog is not the best place to publish them. Plus the fact that Nev usually leaves the blog updates until he’s had a few Grolschs, a couple of Germishes or maybe even smoked something to get his muse going, so postings can sometimes be a bit erratic!
