The Backing Vocals Extraordinaires of Pink Floyd Experience
Backing Vocals Extraordinaire - Hailing from Christchurch, the Samoan, Tongan and Maori soul sister has worked with artists Mos Def, Ciara, Renee Geyer, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Dave Dobbyn, Hollie Smith. The NZSO and more recently soul legend Chaka Khan. Her reputation as one of NZ’s most entertaining performers has earned her spots at Glastonbury, City Of London Festival, Sydney Festival, Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta. Bella first joined us 2009. Another amazing talent with a beautiful voice, Bella is also great fun to tour with and often can be heard laughing loudly from somewhere within the hotel complex.
As you can see we are very blessed to have these 3 beautiful ladies taking care of all those wonderful harmonies and backing vocals. Not to mention the fact that they are great to tour with and very easy to work with. Many people have told us over the years we have the best BV's of any band in NZ and we would have to agree with that. The Pink Floyd Experience is more like a family than a band and each of these ladies have become our sisters!
Kirsten Te Rito
Backing Vocals Extraordinaire - Kirsten is a vocalist, songwriter and producer from Wellington, from Ngāti Kahungunu and Rongomaiwahine iwi.
Sydney Morning Herald called her vocals ‘spectacular’, and that's no exaggeration. In 2016 Kirsten’s sophomore album Āiotanga was a finalist at the Vodafone NZ Music Awards, won Best Māori Pop Album and Best Māori Urban Album at the Waiata Māori Music Awards and her song Tamaiti Ngaro was a finalist for the APRA Maioha Silver Scroll Award.
Kirsten has been with us now since 2012. An amazing vocalist and a fun lady to tour with and very professional. Kirsten is also very technically minded and has even been known to fix the heat pumps in other band members rooms. We do have different opinions sometimes on what the word 'Fixed' means. A bit of a prankster in her own right Kirsten can hold her own so we just feed her wine.
Backing Vocals Extraordinaire - Having been raised in a Church-going family Wini’s first influence was Gospel music. This inspired her to become a singer who moved people’s souls and touched their spirits too…
Coupled with 20 years of professional singing in the music industry, her career has taught her to be passionate and motivated, to present herself immaculately and to always have a professional attitude.
When she’s not appearing with the Pink Floyd Experience Wini also works with some of New Zealands top artists.
One of the many advantages of having Wini in the band is, she knows people in every city we go to, so we often get good hook ups for food, especially fry bread....and if we need a few extra bums on seats Wini's got family everywhere!
